treesuit: the game

Posted on April 5th, 2008 by Raphael Mun

So just a week ago, we released another game called TreeSuit!

This game's been in development for a little while now since the Fall and it is looking great! Go and try it! The official website is http://www.gamecreation.org/~treesuit
Taken directly from the site: "Treesuit is a 3D stealth adventure game in which you must sneak past guards to locate each level's boss and convince them to not harm the environment by challenging them to epic dance-offs."

Just a quick but long-needed update! My team just finished our game for the Game Development competition of Imagine Cup and so here is a teaser video of the game:

SimpleCalc 8.0

Posted on January 12th, 2008 by Raphael Mun

The 8.0 Version of one of my first projects in C. A Calculator program! I hope you can ignore the Introductory Edition Message at the beginning since my source code is long gone and I can't recompile this on a newer version of Visual Studio anymore.

Version 8.0 Download Here!

After taking a course on introductory computers over the at Johns Hopkins' CTY camp during the summer before 6th grade and learning some basic HTML and some Java that I hardly understood at the time, it bothered me that I did not know exactly how my Java TicTacToe program worked while my partner for that project during camp seemed to know exactly everything that was going on.
And so I decided to learn more about this whole 'programming' thing and with some of the money I had saved up, bought a book called "C By Example" by Greg Perry and started to teach myself how to program in C.
To put this into perspective, these were the days of 56K dial-up and into the pre-Google Hotbot search engine, I did some research and learned that C was faster than Java and since the coolest emulators were written in either C or Assembly and I had even less of an idea of what Assembly was, C it was!
One glance at my book and you'll notice that it's highlighted everywhere without a clue, but it was a start and I thought since computers were good at computing, I can make a calculator program as my first project!
This is the end product of 'Version 8', and hopefully you can ignore the Visual Studio Introductory Edition message. The source code for this is long gone somewhere and so unfortunately I cannot rebuild it.
There was also a website on Final Fantasy and Pokemon that I made during this time as well with the back-then awesome and free Tripod.com webhosting! Also long gone it seems... if I find those pages, I will revive it.
